Survey to Collect Feedback about the Transition (November 2025)

One of the actions stemming from our first Listowel Transition Committee (LTC) External committee meeting (details below) was the desire to gather feedback from students, parents and the community regarding the upcoming school grade structure changes in the town of Listowel. To that end, beginning mid November, surveys are being distributed to students and parents/caregivers of the Grade 6 and 7 students at both Listowel Eastdale PS and North Perth Westfield ES. Following that, surveys will come to other students and parents/caregivers (including Listowel District SS) as well as invitations to the broader community to share their questions, concerns and wonderings. 

Transition Process

In June 2025, after an extensive boundary review process (full details below), the AMDSB Board of Trustees decided that beginning in September 2026, grade 7 and 8 students from the Listowel Eastdale Public School and North Perth Westfield Elementary School catchment areas would relocate to Listowel District Secondary School. 

As part of this transition process, a committee has been formed to ensure that students and families are well prepared for this change. AMDSB staff will lead the committee and representatives from each school, including school council chairs (or designate), staff and students, will participate so that all perspectives are considered. Meetings will be open to the public (details and minutes will be posted on this page; see below).

Updates about this process will be emailed directly to impacted families - please ensure that your contact information is up to date with the school office so you don’t miss any important information!
