AMDSB Seeks Parent/Caregiver Feedback on School Climate

Friday, November 28, 2025

Parents/caregivers of students in the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) are asked to complete an online survey to provide feedback about their child’s school. This survey is part of AMDSB’s commitment to building and sustaining positive school climates that are safe, inclusive, and accepting for all students, families and the broader community.

Jane Morris, Superintendent of Education says: “The results from this survey will support school and board teams to better understand concerns, to build strategies and ultimately to seek to improve the school climate. We know that a positive school climate enables students to be more successful. We value the voices of our parents and caregivers and appreciate the time that each of them will take to provide this important feedback”.

The survey is voluntary and completely anonymous and allows parents to reflect on their own experience interacting with their child’s school(s) and also their child’s experience. There are four sections in the survey:

  1. School Experiences (e.g., sense of belonging, relationships, learning engagement),
  2. Environment (e.g., school environment, learning environment, representation, and inclusion),
  3. Safety (e.g., bullying, harassment, discrimination), and
  4. Well-being (e.g., general well-being, and social and emotional feelings)

The survey can be found at the link below and the deadline to complete is Friday, December 12, 2025 at 4pm.
