Character Education
Character education in the Avon Maitland District School Board focuses on helping students develop kindness, respect, responsibility, and honesty. Guided by the AMDSB Equity Action Plan and the Culturally Relevant Responsive Sustaining Pedagogical Framework, this work values student voice, respects differences, and recognizes students' lived experiences. Character education is built into everyday learning and relationships, supporting students to make positive choices, care for others, and contribute to welcoming, inclusive school communities.
We believe, model and practice the following character attributes in all Avon Maitland DSB schools:
