The Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) is proud to provide mobile Welcome & Reception Services for Multilingual Language Learners (MLL) and their families. This team ensures that all new students and their families feel welcomed and supported as they join AMDSB schools.
Welcome & Reception Services can meet families at their local school to assist with school registration, language interpretation, and connections to community services, including YMCA Immigration Settlement Services. They also assess students’ English language levels to recommend programs that support academic success and introduce families to school and community resources.
