AMDSB Seeks Community Feedback on Multi-year Accessibility Plan

March 13, 2024

The Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) AODA Working Group has drafted a new Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (MYAP). This draft MYAP covers a five-year period, from 2024-2029, and will replace the 2018-2023 MYAP. It has been developed in accordance with the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005. This Act details the measures the Board will take to identify, remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities who work, learn and participate in the Board’s community and environment including students, staff, parents and guardians, volunteers and visitors to the Board office buildings, its schools and Centres for Employment and Learning.

The AODA Workgroup is seeking feedback regarding this draft MYAP in order to give students, staff and the community a voice in the finalization of the plan. The consultation process began in November 2023 with internal and committee feedback. For further information about the AODA Workgroup, the prior MYAP or the Workgroup’s meeting agendas and minutes, please visit our Accessibility Information page

“We would like to gather feedback from anyone in the community about our newly drafted Multi-year Accessibility Plan. We want to ensure that the details are clear and the format is easy to follow, before we finalize the plan.” Said Cheri Carter, Superintendent of Corporate Services.

To submit feedback, please review the MYAP on the board's MYAP page and complete a very brief google form by Wednesday March 27, 2024.
