Increase your earning potential by training for a career in the skilled trades!

The first program will be held in Clinton starting in March 2020, followed by Stratford in April 2020, and Listowel in August, 2020.


These programs are a great opportunity for people who are interested in becoming a Welder, Metal Fabricator or General Machinist. The programs are free and are designed to help participating trainees develop the job skills and trade readiness needed to start a career in the skilled trades and pursue an apprenticeship.




  • Secondary School Diploma or GED (or will have completed by program end)
  • Unemployed, underemployed or working part-time
  • Age 18+ (by program end)
  • Eligible to work in Ontario


These 25-week programs will be held in the evenings Monday-Thursday (and every other Saturday). Training includes in-school theory, hands-on practical training and an 8-week paid work placement with an area employer. The primary trade exposure is Welding/Metal Fabricating (120 hours), with secondary exposure to General Machining (60 hours).
