The Huron County OPP has concluded its investigation into the isolated incident that occurred at F.E. Madill SS on April 7, 2026 (see the details in their full media release). The Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) is confident that this investigation was extensive and fulsome. Based on these findings, there is no indication that further investigation by the school or board is warranted.
Our priority remains the well-being and recovery of those involved. We continue to keep the injured student in our thoughts and prayers, and our Mental Health and Well-being team remains on-site to provide ongoing support to FE Madill students and staff.
In alignment with our police partners, we urge the public to rely on official, verified information. The continued spread of rumors and speculation causes direct harm to the individuals and families impacted by this traumatic event.
