On the evening of June 11, the AMDSB Board of Trustees hosted a Recognition Reception to celebrate staff achievements. The event honoured employees for their years of service, their retirement, and their contributions through the trustee-led recognition program iAM Making an Impact.
The Service Award acknowledges milestones in service by staff and was initiated by trustees as part of the Board’s 10 year anniversary celebration. Employees who have served 30 or more years were recognized at the June 11 event, and those who have served 10 and 20 years were recognized with a commemorative certificate presented at their school or worksite and showcased in the Retiree and Years of Service e-magazine.
The Retirement Recognition is a celebration of retirees. Over 60 individuals were honoured at the event, including Education Centre staff, teachers, and other support staff, all of whom have contributed to the success of students in AMDSB.
Finally, the Trustee Recognition Program, “iAM Making an Impact”, recognized 3 initiatives involving nine different staff members. Those who were recognized embody the mission of the Board’s Strategic Plan to: Engage, Inspire, and Innovate: Always Learning. This year’s key focus area was iAM Prepared, and these staff members go above and beyond in order to support students to thrive.
