The Stratford and Area Boundary Review Committee (SABRC) is now ready to receive community feedback on some boundary adjustment scenarios. School boundaries determine which school a student attends depending on where they live. The possible boundary adjustment scenarios were created by an independent consultant, following consultation and feedback from the SABRC, and are intended to help alleviate enrolment pressures at schools within the Stratford planning area. While adjustments to every school is unlikely, all schools in the region are being consulted. The consultation package includes a report explaining some potential scenarios for consideration and an online survey.

As Cheri Carter, Superintendent of Corporate Services explains: “The feedback will be consolidated by the consultant and a report with the options, recommendations and community feedback will be provided to the SABRC. With this information in hand, the SABRC will propose which scenarios staff should take forward to AMDSB Trustees. The Trustees will then decide what is best for the school board, while understanding the needs and opinions of the school communities.”

Anyone interested in submitting feedback can review the report at amdsb.ca/stratfordboundaryreview and complete the online survey - the deadline is February 15. Paper copies of surveys are available in school offices, for those that prefer an alternative format.

In addition, an open house is being hosted to showcase the report content, including large maps and other details. Drop in anytime between 6 and 8pm on Monday January 29, 2024 to the Stratford District SS cafeteria to have a look at the report content and ask questions!
