Media Release - Director's Work Plan

AMDSB Director’s Work Plan Strives to Make Improvements and Measure Success

Each year the Avon Maitland District School Board’s Director and Senior Team develop an annual plan called the Director’s Work Plan (DWP). The DWP directs and defines the efforts of board staff to support the priorities identified by the Board of Trustees. In general, the areas of focus throughout the DWP include the 3 main areas of the AMDSB Strategic Plan (2020-2024): I am prepared, I am well, I am engaged.

This year the DWP outlines specific measures that will demonstrate whether or not the strategies and goals are making a positive impact on students. “We are focused on ensuring the work in all departments is reflective of each student and staff member in our district which means that human rights and indigenous learning are foundational to everything we do,” said Director Walsh.  It also highlights some of the key deliverables as outlined by the Ministry of Education in their recent amendments to the Education Act via Bill 98, including the expectation for school boards to submit a Student Achievement Plan

Director of Education Dr. Lisa Walsh explains: “The Director’s Work Plan highlights some of the key work that is being led by our senior leadership team. It directly relates to our 4-year Strategic Plan and strives to ensure that the initiatives we are implementing have a measurable impact on our students and staff.”
