The Avon Maitland District School Board’s Centre for Employment & Learning (CEL) is celebrating their first 25 graduates from their Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification program. The program, which included training in a live classroom and co-operative education (co-op) format, was no charge to participants and included a combination of online (live) and in-person classes held in Goderich and Stratford.

“We are very proud of our graduates as they are moving into a role that is critical for many people in our communities. They are beginning to fill the gap and lighten the staffing pressures that many local organizations are feeling.” said Kendra Brohman, Principal of the CELs.

One of the graduates pointed out that “Being a PSW means to give care no matter what and will do that with love and kindness".

The next program will begin mid to late summer, 2023.  Interested individuals can visit the CEL website for more information: thecentreforemploymentandlearning.ca/psw.
