Voluntary Asymptomatic Testing for Staff and Students

The information on this page will be updated regularly - please check back often to learn about the schools across Huron and Perth counties that will be hosting these voluntary clinics.

To continue to support our schools, students, staff and families, the Avon Maitland District and Huron Perth Catholic District School Boards are offering school space for the Ministry of Education’s voluntary, targeted COVID-19 testing. The testing will be conducted at the schools listed below. In addition to daily screening, masking and the other health and safety measures, targeted testing in schools is an important layer of protection that helps to limit the spread of COVID-19. It will help ensure that our schools remain a safe environment where all come to learn and work.

The testing clinics will offer PCR testing (also known as polymerase chain reaction testing), which is a type of test that collects a sample with a swab from the person’s nose/throat. This type of test has a high level of accuracy and is the same test that is offered at provincially-operated assessment centres.

Consent will be required from parents/guardians of students under 18 years old. Please take note of the following:

  • Walk in appointments will be taken.
  • When you arrive at the testing location at the school, please wear a mask and bring your child's valid (i.e. not expired) health card. You will be asked to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire and a consent form.
  • If you have any questions about the clinic, please contact support@gvtlabs.ca.

All future testing dates and locations will be posted on this page.

Anyone who has been directed by a healthcare provider or public health to get tested for COVID-19, or anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should visit the assessment centres that are being offered throughout our communities. Click here to find an assessment centre near you
