Stratford Transformation Committee (STC)

The Stratford Transformation Committee (STC) is responsible for guiding the transformation from the former Stratford Central and Northwestern to the newly established 7/8 and 9-12 schools.

The STC has parent representatives from the Stratford and area School Councils, student representatives from the SSES student body, staff representatives from each of the union affiliates, trustee representation and community representation. The parent, student, trustee and staff representatives have been selected by the members that they represent
and the community members were randomly selected from a list of interested individuals.

The role of the STC is to:
  • Recommend the school name(s) to Board of Trustees
  • Recommend school “mascot(s)” and colours
  • Provide recommendations with respect to the disposition of school memorabilia, awards and scholarships
  • Assist in the development and delivery of celebrations for both sites (former Stratford Northwestern Secondary School and former Stratford Central Secondary School)
  • Identify, discuss and make recommendations to school and Board staff regarding issues of concern with respect to the transition process.
