Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing work with students to facilitate the development of their listening, language and self-advocacy skills to enhance their confidence, achievement and well-being.
Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing help staff understand and respond to their students’ hearing needs in their classroom and in the school.
Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing partner with families in providing support for the audiological and learning needs of their child at school and in the home.
The Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing partner with other professionals (e.g. Special Education Resource Teacher, Audiologists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Auditory Verbal Therapists) within and outside the board to support students with hearing needs.
