Remote Learning Continues Until End of School year

Today Premier Doug Ford announced that schools would not be returning to face to face learning this school year. We were very hopeful that the health situation in Ontario would be positive enough to allow students back to school before the end of June. However, we understand that the Premier’s decision is based on the best advice from public health and medical officials. The majority of students will continue to learn remotely and those students who are currently attending in person will continue to do so until the last day of classes (Monday June 28 for elementary and Wednesday June 23 for secondary).

We ask that parents continue to support their children online. We do recognize that this has been a challenging time for many. While we continue to help children learn in the areas dictated by our curriculum, it has been a time of significant learning, beyond the curriculum. Students and staff have learned resiliency skills, coping strategies, technological skills, and opportunities for creativity. Staying connected to peers and staff is also important for social and emotional support and development. Your child’s teacher, support staff and administrators are available to help you solve any issues arising for your child or family challenges that are impacting your child’s learning. We are in this together!

Graduations/year end celebrations: No in-person events (i.e. large gatherings) will be hosted in June due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please watch for information from your school about the details of virtual events or events being hosted in the fall.
